Mother’s Day “Pay What You Can” Portrait Day
On April 26, I spent the whole day in the studio photographing some seriously sweet moments between mamas and their babies (of all ages). it was a Pay What You Can portrait day—and wow, my heart is still full.
I opened up time slots from 10 to 5, with each family getting 20 minutes in front of the camera. Just enough time to settle in, connect, and capture something real. No fuss, no pressure—just beautiful light, good energy, and people showing up exactly as they are.
This photo says it all. The little arm around mama’s neck, the proud smile. it’s everything I love about these sessions.
I really wanted to make this day feel accessible. No price tag stress, no awkward conversations—just a “come if you can, pay what you can” vibe. And the response was incredible. So many beautiful families, all in one day.
And yep—everyone got their final photos just in time for Mother’s Day. I hope they brought some happy tears, some framed prints, and a few texts to grandma.
Honestly, I think this is going to be a yearly thing. Already dreaming up ways to make it even better next time.
Thanks to everyone who came through. You made it so special.
