A Cozy & Timeless Maternity Session

Every so often, I get the joy of photographing couples and families! My approach is always the same as with my solo portrait sessions: to create images that feel like you, but elevated and timeless.

This Chicago maternity session was extra special. The mom-to-be found me through a previous client (they’re cousins!), and from the very beginning, she came prepared. She arrived with a moodboard that clearly reflected her vision: clean, simple, cozy styling paired with timeless, elevated imagery. Having that direction was so helpful—it allowed me to shape the session in a way that felt completely personal to her while still leaving space for natural moments.

We shot in my Ravenswood, Chicago studio, where natural light and a minimalist backdrop helped keep the focus on the couple. Throughout the session, we mixed in sentimental, tender portraits with playful, lighthearted shots. The balance made the gallery feel authentic to who they are as a couple, while still holding onto that polished, minimal aesthetic they wanted.
